Can every e-scooter use public roads?
No. For an e-scooter without kick assistance, the exact type must be approved. Check its registration and third-party liability insurance before using public roads. See the RDW list of approved models.
How old must I be, and do I need a driving licence?
You must be at least 16 to ride an approved e-scooter without kick assistance. You do not need a driving licence. Check the current conditions at Rijksoverheid.nl.
Can I take a test ride first?
Try your favourite model before deciding, with personal guidance. Request a test ride and arrange the model, date and location with us.
How do I request a rental date?
Use ‘Rent an e-scooter’ to choose your preferred date and number of scooters. Send your enquiry using your own email app. Your booking is only final once StepKenteken confirms availability and price.
